Northern California Wildfire Information Center

Website wil no longer be updated as of  Saturday, July 26 at 5 p.m.

We are pleased to announce that a number of the northern California wildfires are reaching containment. As a result, the Joint Information Center will slowly reduce operations and close at effective Saturday, July 26

The web site, published through the Public Informational Emergency Response (PIER) system, will stop being updated at that time.

The PIER system is a joint agency pilot project designed to keep residents, the public, and government officials updated with wildfire information. In collaboration with other wildfire information centers, the PIER system provided a consolidated source of current information on containment, road closures, evacuations, maps, and other types of information. We hope it was useful to you.

Even though this site will no longer be updated, daily fire information will still be available on the following sites.  Please visit either CAL FIRE or the U.S. Forest Service Web sites below.

Do You Have a Story to Tell?
(We must hear from you before August 10th)

As firefighting agencies and other emergency responders continue to work on fire control and mop up, we would like to hear from the public regarding their personal experience with the fires. Do you know someone who went out of their way to assist a neighbor, save an animal or volunteer at an evacuation shelter?  Please encourage them to sit down and share their story with the thousands of personnel involved in the firefighting effort. To submit your story, CLICK HERE
